How do I Restart / Reboot the Nifty system?
If the smart system is not functioning correctly, or if a Nifty representative has recommended it, a restart may be required to resolve the issue. As we all know, a good old-fashioned restart often works like magic in fixing technical problems. There are several ways to do this, ranging from a soft restart to a hard restart if needed.
Using the Home Assistant APP (Soft restart)
Open the Home Assistant APP on your phone
Click the menu

icon top left and select the "Settings" tab
- Click the Nifty Brain icon

- Click reboot All
- Wait for 5-10 minutes while the system reboots.
Using the Tablet (Soft restart)
- Press and hold the Nifty icon on the screen to access the settings.
Click "Reboot Nifty Brain"
Wait for 5-10 minutes while the system reboots.
Turning the power ON and OFF (Hard restart)
In some circumstances, the app or tablet may not be functioning, making a soft restart impossible. In this case, you will need to physically switch off the power to the Nifty Brain. To do this:
- locate the Nifty Brain:

- Next to it, you will find a plug labelled ‘Nifty.’ Turn it OFF for 10 seconds, then turn it ON again.
- Wait for 5-10 minutes while the system reboots.
