Electric heater troubleshooting

Heater Setup Requirements

For the heaters to function correctly, the following prerequisites must be met:

Power Requirements

  1. The heater must be switched on.
  2. The fused switch next to the heater must be in the “on” position.
  3. The wall thermostat is also connected to this switch, so if the switch is on, the thermostat should function.
  4. If the switch is on but the thermostat does not respond when you press its buttons, replace the fuse in the switch (13A).

Setting the Thermostat to Manual

For the thermostat to work correctly with the smart system, it must be set to manual mode, indicated by a hand icon on the display when the thermostat is on. If set to timer mode (shown by a clock icon), the heating will follow the thermostat’s internal schedule rather than being controlled by the mobile app, meaning any app-based schedules will not work.

To set the thermostat to manual mode:
  1. Turn on the thermostat by pressing the centre button.
  2. Press the selection button (bottom left) until the small hand icon appears.
  3. Once set, you can turn the thermostat off if needed.

Heater Temperature and Locking

During the initial smart home setup, the heater’s temperature was set correctly, and the panel was locked to prevent accidental changes.

To test the settings:
  1. Set the thermostat to 30°C and check if the heater turns on.
  2. If the heater activates, it should display a lock symbol.
  3. If the heater turns on but does not show a lock icon, set it to 30°C manually using its own buttons and contact Nifty support http://support.nifty.place to have the heater locked again.
