Step 1: Download the Google Home App
- 1. Download and install the Google Home app on your mobile device.
- 2. Set up your Google Home device following the on-screen instructions.
Step 2: Enable the Home Assistant Integration in Google Home
- Open the Google Home app on your mobile device.
- Tap on the + icon in the top left corner to add a new device.
- Select Set up device > Works with Google.
- Search for Home Assistant in the list of available integrations and tap on it.
- Sign in with the Nifty cloud subscription details sent to you to link it to Google Home.
- Once linked, you can ask Google Home to discover devices connected to your Home Assistant system.
Step 3: Set Up Devices to Be Controlled by Google Home
- After linking the accounts, Google Home will prompt you to discover devices or you can manually tap Sync Devices in the Google Home app.
- Wait for Google Home to find your Home Assistant devices.
Step 4: Control Devices with Google Home
- Once the devices are discovered, you can control your Home Assistant devices with Google Home by simply saying commands like:
“Hey Google, turn on the lights.”
- “Hey Google, set the thermostat to 21 degrees.”
Troubleshooting
- If devices don’t appear in Google Home after setup, try saying, “Hey Google, sync my devices.”
- Ensure that your Home Assistant instance is running and your Nifty cloud subscription is active.
Now, your Home Assistant devices should be successfully linked to Google Home, and you can control them via voice commands. If you encounter any issues during setup, please submit a support ticket at
